Create a CBT Exam
Set up computer-based tests with questions, options, and an exam code for students.
Create computer-based tests (CBT) that students can take online using an exam code.
Steps
- Go to Assessment/CBT from the main menu.
- Click Create Test.
- Enter the test details:
- Title (e.g., "JSS 2 Mathematics Mid-Term")
- Subject
- Duration (in minutes)
- Click Add Question to start building the exam.
- For each question:
- Type the question text
- Add answer options (A, B, C, D)
- Select the correct answer
- Repeat step 5 for all questions.
- Click Publish when the exam is ready.
- The system generates a unique Exam Code — share this with students to access the test.
Tips
- Students enter the exam code to start the test on their devices.
- The timer starts once a student begins — they cannot pause.
- You can add as many questions as needed.
- Review all questions before publishing; edits are not allowed after students begin.
Offline Resilience
Cloud Sentrics CBT is built for unreliable internet connections:
- Network drops during exam — students keep answering. Answers save to their device every 10 seconds.
- Page refresh or browser crash — exam restores exactly where they left off (same question, same answers, same timer).
- Submit while offline — answers stay saved locally and auto-submit when connection returns (retries every 30 seconds).
- Timer accuracy — the timer is calculated from the original start time, not from network. It stays accurate even after disconnection.
No student data is lost due to network issues. This works automatically — no setup required.
